Chrysler Museum
of Art
245 West
Olney Road
Norfolk, Virginia 23510
757-664-6200
The Chrysler Museum of Art combines, under a single administrative umbrella,
one of America's great fine arts museums and two significant historic
houses.
In addition to maintaining a distinguished permanent collection, the Chrysler
offers a comprehensive program of changing exhibitions and education activities
for visitors of all ages. Our goal is to bring people and original works
of art together. We believe that a visit to a museum should be both educational,
providing visitors with a chance to learn more about themselves and their
world, and fun.
Founded in 1939 as the Norfolk Museum of Arts and Sciences, the Museum
experienced explosive growth in 1971 when automobile heir and art collector
Walter P. Chrysler, Jr. presented the city of Norfolk with his collection.
Since Chrysler's death in 1989 the Museum has continued to grow and expand,
building on his legacy with regular additions to its holdings.

Suffolk Center
for Cultural Arts
Suffolk, Virginia

Box office: 757-923-2900
Suffolk High School, built in 1922, served as a beloved place of
gathering and learning for thousands of students, parents, teachers, administrators
and many others, until its doors were closed in 1990. The building's halls
still seem to resound with 70 years of youthful excitement and potential.
The old slate stairs were lovingly worn with the buoyant steps of all
those who had passed through this magnificent building. Through the years
Suffolk High School had seen many great changes, but an ingenious metamorphosis
was on the horizon.
In 1998 a task force was appointed to develop a plan for the grand old
school building. The result? A transformation of Suffolk High School into
the
area's only full-service cultural arts center, the Suffolk Center for
Cultural Arts! Groundbreaking took place in August 2004, and after much
hard work, the Center was completed the summer of 2006. We invite you
to share the excitement of our second season. Experience world class performances
as actors, entertainers, musicians and dancers grace our stage. Witness
the mastery of visual artists in our gallery space. Learning something
new, participate in a variety of art classes, involve your children, meet
friends for lunch or dinner or host a party, or even a banquet! Join us
as we celebrate the cultural arts in Suffolk. Come...make new memories
with us.
